Essex
IBBco Civil Engineering Ltd are a Highways approved contractor. This means that we have the accreditations, insurances and training to install your dropped kerb. Following the Essex Highways specification and to the highest safety standards.
The most important thing to remember is that you MUST get approval from Essex Highways which can be obtained through the following website:
https://www.essexhighways.org/applications/for-residents/vehicle-crossings-dropped-kerbs.aspx
To help you fully understand the process we have outlined all the steps below:
Hertfordshire
Unfortunately, we cannot install your dropped kerb as the local authority has their own inhouse team.
The Step by Step Process
- Firstly you will need to apply for a dropped kerb approval with Essex Highways
- Essex Highways will then send a surveyor to ensure that you have the space and it is safe to drive in/ out
- If approved they will mark the pavement with hiviz paint
- Next they will request plans from the utility companies to show the location of pipes and wires (approval typically taking 6-10 weeks)
- Once complete you will receive an email which you should forward to us on office@ibbco.co.uk
- When received we will send our surveyor to review what is approved and send you a quotation
- If you are happy with the quote we will apply for a works permit which takes 7 days
- Once we have the permit we have 12 weeks to complete the works (we can normally schedule this within 2- 3 weeks)
- Lastly the work will usually take 1- 2 days depending on size or complications
It’s important to note that IBBco will take care of lowering any utility company inspection covers so please don’t request this from the company as it will be very expensive and take up to 6 months to complete.
